Development of Tri-Metal™ Blades from ScandUS Inc.
Tri-MetalT Blades from ScandUS are being brought to market as a result of the creativity, inspiration and perseverance of their inventor Allan Rack.
In 1996, Allan Rack purchased a historical building in Corvallis, Oregon with another contractor. The reciprocating saw became an instrumental tool during the process of renovating this 10,000 sq.ft. building. Allan quickly became dissatisfied with the performance of the blades that were commonly available for the saw. Commodity blades easily broke and their single sided pointy tip limited the use of the saw. There were so many things that the reciprocating saw could better do if only the blades were better.
Allan quickly concluded that the blades needed to have teeth on both sides of the blade as well having teeth on a rounded tip. Allan also discovered that there were several blade geometries that would further improve the utility of the reciprocating saw. Allan secured the utility patent as well the design patent for the blades that ScandUS will produce now and in the future.
The company that is now ScandUS Inc. was formed to commercialize Allan's designs. Family, friends and acquaintances have invested their time and money to bring these blades to market. We have worked with a global group of supplier and service providers to produce these blades. We expect that you will find these blades to be the best blades you have ever used.
